Day 1: Seeking God’s Face

Welcome to the first day of our prayer and fasting program. Today, we will focus on seeking God’s face and drawing closer to Him. As we start this journey, let us reflect on Psalm 27:8, which says, “My heart says of you, ‘Seek his face!’ Your face, Lord, I will seek.”

Prayer Points:

  1. To seek God’s face and draw closer to Him (Psalm 27:8)
  2. To humble ourselves and repent of any sins that are hindering our relationship with God (James 4:8-10)
  3. To ask God to renew our minds and hearts and transform us into His likeness (Romans 12:2)
  4. To pray for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit and a deeper understanding of God’s Word (Acts 2:1-4; Ephesians 1:17-18)
  5. To pray for God’s guidance and direction for the rest of the prayer and fasting program (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Let us start by humbling ourselves and repenting of any sins that may be hindering our relationship with God. As James 4:8-10 says, “Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.”

Let us also ask God to renew our minds and hearts and transform us into His likeness. As Romans 12:2 says, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Furthermore, let us pray for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit and a deeper understanding of God’s Word. As Acts 2:1-4 says, “When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.”

Lastly, let us pray for God’s guidance and direction for the rest of the prayer and fasting program. As Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
