Day 13 – March 13th, 2023

Theme: Breaking The Chain of Poverty Mindset.

Bible Reference: Proverbs 23:7 – “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” Our thoughts shape our reality, so it’s important to align our thoughts with God’s truth and abundance.

Philippians 4:19 – “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” Trusting in God’s provision and abundance is key to breaking a poverty mindset.

Welcome to Day 13 of our 21 Days of Fasting and Prayer. Today’s theme is Breaking the Chain of  Poverty Mindset.

Poverty is not only a financial state; it is also a state of mind. A poverty mindset is one that is characterized by fear, lack of confidence, and hopelessness. It is a mentality that can hinder our progress in life and limit our potential to achieve our goals.

However, as believers, we have been called to live a life of abundance, both spiritually and materially. God desires for us to prosper in every area of our lives, and this includes our finances. But in order to break free from a poverty mindset, we must renew our minds and align our thinking with God’s Word.

The Bible says in Proverbs 23:7, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” Our thoughts and beliefs shape our reality, and if we believe that we are destined for poverty, we will attract poverty into our lives. But if we believe that God is our provider and that He desires for us to live a life of abundance, we will attract blessings and prosperity into our lives.

We must also recognize that poverty is not just a lack of money; it can also be a lack of resources, opportunities, and connections. But we serve a God who is able to provide all of our needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). When we trust in God’s provision, we can overcome the limitations of a poverty mindset and step into the abundance that God has prepared for us.

  1. Father, I thank you for your abundant provision and the blessings you have given me.
  2. Lord, I confess any negative thoughts or beliefs I may have about money and wealth that are not aligned with your word.
  3. I renounce any generational poverty mindset that may be affecting me and my family, and I declare that I am free from its hold.
  4. Father, I pray that you will renew my mind with your word and transform my thinking regarding money and wealth.
  5. Lord, help me to trust in your provision and not be anxious about my finances.
  6. Father, I pray for wisdom and guidance in managing my finances well and making wise investments.
  7. Lord, I pray for new opportunities to increase my income and financial stability.
  8. Father, I ask that you remove any barriers that may be preventing me from achieving financial abundance and success.
  9. Lord, help me to be a good steward of the resources you have given me and to use them to bless others.
  10. Father, I declare that I am blessed to be a blessing and that I will walk in financial abundance as I continue to seek your kingdom and righteousness.

Remember to pray these prayer points with faith and trust in God’s provision and abundance. May the Lord break every poverty mindset in your life and bless you with financial abundance and success in all your endeavors.

Let us pray:

Dear Lord, I come to You today asking for Your help to break free from a poverty mindset. I choose to align my thoughts and beliefs with Your Word, which promises me abundance and prosperity. I trust in Your provision and believe that You will supply all of my needs according to Your riches in glory. Help me to overcome any limiting beliefs or fears that have been holding me back, and give me the wisdom and courage to take action toward the life of abundance that You have prepared for me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
