VERSE OF THE DAY
Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the man, “Young man, your sins are forgiven.”

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
This verse is one of my favorite verses. It’s all too simple to feel that our existence is insignificant, that God is concerned about others but not with me, that I am unimportant. What a sham! Four men were bringing a disabled man to Jesus in this text. They had heard Jesus could heal, but they couldn’t get to him because of the crowd. Instead of giving up, they scaled the roof of the house and lowered the man into the chamber where Jesus was. Now Jesus could have concentrated on the man who was paralyzed. After all, he was the one who needed assistance. Instead, Jesus focused on the four men and their faith and perseverance. He was aware of them. “When he witnessed their trust,” it says. We know that Jesus knows everything there is to know about us. We are aware of His omnipresence. However, have you ever considered that He might be aware of your presence? God comes to a halt and concentrates all of His attention on you! You are the focus of His attention. Allow that to sink in. He takes notice of you and is enamoured with what He sees.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Thank You, Father, for Your love for me, and thank you for listening to what I have to say. Assist me in believing that You know me and who I am. Please assist me in appreciating the personal affection; You have for me. Thank you for taking notice of me, Lord.
