MY VERY OWN LOG

And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?

Matthew 7:3 NKJV

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

How it would change my life if I was as concerned about my own behavior as I was about the behavior of everyone else. It is far easier to project the identical difficulties I struggle with onto others than to humble myself and modify my ways. It is much easier to be concerned about everyone else than to deal with my own concerns. Jesus was well aware of our propensity to complain, judge, and condemn others. He understood how difficult it is to delve into our own hearts and face the sin that stares out at us. “First, get rid of the log in your own eye, and then you will be able to see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye,” He explained. Today, ask God to assist you in dealing with your problems and assist others with theirs.

THE PRAYER FOR TODAY

Dear Father, please forgive me for passing judgment on others. You are well aware of the sins that lie within my own heart. Even though you are well aware of my character flaws and destructive behaviors, Please assist me in recognizing them and allowing You to assist me in correcting them in the name of Jesus.

AMEN
