Cleanse me from these hidden faults. Keep your servant from deliberate sins! Don’t let them control me.
Psalms 19:12-13

We’re creatures of habit, after all. That explains why so many of our sins recur again and time again throughout our lives. Unfortunately, there are some sins that we become so accustomed to that they no longer offend us. Others are capable of bringing us to our knees. “Oh, what a wretched person I am!” Paul said in his letter, and we can’t help but agree. “Who will set me free from this existence that is ruled by sin and death?” I wonder. What are we supposed to do? We can do what David did. He admitted his wrongdoing and prayed to God to purify him and prohibit him from committing other sins on purpose. We might follow in Paul’s footsteps and acknowledge the power of Christ by writing, “Thank God! “The answer is found in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.” The key to unlocking the mystery is found in what David writes in the same passage. We will witness victory due to our connection with God and His Word. “The commandments of the LORD are faultless, and they resurrect the soul,” David declares. The precepts of the LORD are unambiguous, and they guide living.” Spend some time today talking to God about your bad habits. Accept His pardon for any wrongdoing you may have done. Spend quality time with the Lord, allowing His word to mould your character. There is freedom in Jesus Christ!

Dear Lord, please forgive me for the sins that I commit regularly. Give me the victory through the power of Your Holy Spirit and the words of Your word. In the name of Jesus.
