Day 17 – March 17th, 2023

Theme: Breaking Chains of Laziness

Message:  Have you ever found yourself procrastinating, putting off important tasks or responsibilities, or just feeling unmotivated to work hard? Laziness can be a difficult habit to break, but with God’s help, we can overcome it and cultivate a spirit of diligence. In Proverbs 10:4, it says, “Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth.” God desires for us to be good stewards of the time, talents, and resources He has given us, and to use them to bring glory to His name. As we seek His help to break the chains of laziness, let us remember that we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength (Philippians 4:13).

Bible Verses: Proverbs 13:4 – “A sluggard’s appetite is never filled, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied.” Proverbs 21:5 – “The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty.” Colossians 3:23-24 – “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”

Prayer Points:

  1. Ask God to forgive you for any times you have been lazy or procrastinated on important tasks.
  2. Pray for God’s help to cultivate a spirit of diligence and hard work in all areas of your life.
  3. Ask God to show you how to use your time and talents to bring glory to His name.
  4. Pray for motivation and energy to tackle tasks that may seem overwhelming or difficult.
  5. Ask God to help you prioritize your responsibilities and focus on what truly matters.
  6. Pray for wisdom to know when to rest and when to work, and for balance in your daily routine.
  7. Ask God to help you be a good steward of the resources He has given you, including time, talents, and finances.
  8. Pray for strength to resist the temptation to procrastinate or be lazy, and for self-discipline to stay on task.
  9. Ask God to give you a vision for your future and to help you set goals that align with His will.
  10. Pray for accountability and support from others who can encourage you to work hard and pursue your dreams.

Final Prayer: Dear God, thank you for your grace and mercy that covers us even when we fall short. We ask for your help today to break the chains of laziness and cultivate a spirit of diligence and hard work in all areas of our lives. Show us how to use our time and talents to bring glory to your name, and give us the motivation and energy we need to tackle important tasks. Help us to prioritize our responsibilities and focus on what truly matters, and to be good stewards of the resources you have given us. Give us the strength to resist the temptation to procrastinate or be lazy, and the self-discipline to stay on task. May we be shining examples of your love and grace in all that we do. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
